How To Make Your Computer System Faster

There are some tricks, which can improve the performance of your system drastically. These shortcuts improve the system speed and its life significantly.

Keep the C Drive under diet. Never allocate more space in C drive. May be up to 10 GB is ok. This will make your system to work faster as the data can be readily available with less number of disk revolutions. Keep the C Drive dedicated to the operating system only. Avoid dumping all the data files to the C Drive. Dumping data into C drive will make it heavier and thus results in poor performance. Your data also will be more secured if you keep your data in another drive as C drive can be formatted in the case of a corrupt system, which also will wipe your precious data from the system. When installing new software you can choose another drive, say, D to install new software.

Another step you can take is to set the system for best performance. From the Control Panel choose System and then choose performance options and set the performance option to Adjust for Best Performance. You can also consider upgrading the memory of your system for any further performance improvement.

Always respect your computer system. Shut down it properly using the start menu. Modern systems are equipped to handle an immediate switch-off gently using the same start menu shutdown technique.

Keep your temporary directory clean. Over a period of time, your temporary directory must have been overloaded with lot of small files downloaded to your system while you are surfing the net. Cleaning the temporary directory periodically will result in more space in the system.
